Cynthia Moessinger

Obituary of Cynthia Moessinger

Cynthia was born February 27th, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri. She had a tumultuous but adventurous childhood after her father died suddenly at the early age of 36. She and her sister then lived with their mother and step-father in an old abandoned school house. Over the years they transformed their home into a work space where they developed dog training and grooming accessories. As a family they made a living traveling all over the country in an RV to dog shows, where they would sell custom equipment that they had invented and made. Though her childhood was more work than play, she cultivated a work ethic that few possess. As a teenager she became unhappy with her life on the road and started spending more time with her uncle and his family. He was very religious, and while he taught her a lot about what it means to be a Christian, her training was only scratching the surface. In April 2009, at the age of 48, she married the love of her life, Derek Moessinger. Together they began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. In time, she learned what the Bible really teaches, and developed a personal relationship with Jehovah God. This helped her make many changes to her personality and lifestyle. In 2015, she made a decision to dedicate her life to Jehovah. However, on December 19th, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. As many of us visited her, she made it known that her top priority was symbolizing her dedication by water baptism. Brother Mendrala assured her that she would be baptized even if it had to be done in a bath tub! She was able to achieve this monumental spiritual goal on January 23rd, 2016. Her determination and zeal for the truth, although brief, was an inspiration to us all. Anyone who ever knew Cynthia had to respect her for her integrity and willingness to stick to her beliefs, even if they disagreed with her...only later to find out she was right. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Cynthia was not afraid to die because she knew she would only being going to sleep for a little while. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who love her dearly and who eagerly await seeing her well again in God's new system. She is survived by her husband Derek; her 3 sisters Sheila, Tab, and Crystal; her daughter Shayna, and her three sons, Jonathan, Jacob, and Zakkary; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and by all her spiritual brothers and sisters. Services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 19th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1219 53rd St. S., Gulfport, FL. David C.
