Obituary of Harley Jay Zwerin

Harley Zwerin, 77 of Clearwater succumbed to heart failure on February 6, 2019. He was surrounded by his loving family. Harley was raised in Cincinnati, OH and attended University of Cincinnati. Shortly after graduation he joined the Navy and while stationed in Mayport, Jacksonville met the love of his life Barbara and settled in Florida. They moved to Clearwater where they raised their sons Michael and Alan. Harley was a well known and loved Pharmacist in the Clearwater area for over 40 years. He was an avid sportsman and had a passion for golf, football and baseball. There wasn't a stat he didn't know and with his photographic memory he could recall all of them quickly. Harley is survived by his beloved wife Barbara of 52 years, sons Michael and his wife Rebecca of Riverview, FL, Alan and his wife Kelly and two cherished grandchildren Katie and Sarah of Orlando, FL. His sister Lynn Squire of Cary, NC and Dee and Marvin Stern of Lake Worth, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents David and Bernice, step mother Teddy and sister Eileen Cole and brother Dennis (Cheri) Lubow. Funeral services will be 9:30 AM Sunday, February 10 at David C. Gross Funeral Home, 830 N. Belcher Rd., Clearwater. Burial will follow in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Shiva will be observed at the Zwerin residence, 2211 Willowbrook Drive, Clearwater. Family will receive visitors Sunday after the interment service, and Monday and Tuesday from 6-8 PM. Donations in memory would be appreciated to American Heart Assn. or the charity of your choice.
